Civil and Partnership Ceremonies

The Wilton Court is licensed for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies. Ceremonies can be held in the Wilton Suite, Wilton Riverview Restaurant or Mulberry Restaurant.

A typical afternoon ceremony procedure would be as follows for between 4 and 50 people.

Typically the ceremony would take place late morning early lunchtime either in the Wilton Suite or Mulberry Restaurant depending on numbers

The ceremony usually lasts 20 - 30 minutes. (The hotels fee for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies is £300.00)

The arrangements for the marriage or civil partnership must be made directly with the ceremony coordinator at the town hall in Hereford.

Monday to Thursday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm and Friday 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.

According to regulations, food and drink are not permitted in the ceremony room prior and during the ceremony.

A Harpist or alternative music can be arranged during and /or after the ceremony. Alternatively background music of your choice could be arranged. A choice of three pieces of music is required for the ceremony, for the brides arrival, signing of the certificate and for your departure from the ceremony. Please note that any readings or music you may wish to include within the ceremony must be non religious and agreed in advance with the registrar attending the ceremony.

After the ceremony we will welcome guests with reception drinks and canapés in the the gardens or riverbank weather permitting. In the winter months we will have our fires glowing.

After photography (We recommend up to one hour) the meal will be served in either the Mulberry Restaurant or Wilton Suite.

After dessert cutting of the cake takes place with more photographs. Speeches and a toast will then take place, after which coffee, together with wedding cake is served. A cash bar is available throughout the afternoon and proceedings draw to a close around 5.30 pm with carriages at 6.00 pm.
