Top 10 Things To Consider When Choosing A Hotel

Choosing accommodation is the most fretful experience that you can ever imagine. There are so many things to take care of and fit all those factors into the budget. Accommodation and hotel booking take the largest chunk of your vacation budget and after booking a hotel that is burning a hole in your pocket, you might not get the worth of money you spent. Therefore, we have created a checklist that you might want to go through before booking accommodation.

Location

Make sure that the hotel you are booking is not very far away from the places you might want to visit on your vacation or business trip. Some people just check the availability, amenities and price and forget to look about how much time would it take to reach your ultimate destination. You do not want to ruin your trip by wasting time travelling.

Do the necessary research

Do the necessary research

All that glitters is not gold. You should not just be dazzled by the pictures that are reflected on the website of the hotel. Try to find out reviews on Google’s knowledge graph.

Do not ignore the negative reviews

You might come across the bad ones and the good ones. Try to balance out to find out which one’s have been written out of spite and which ones are reflecting genuine concern.

Only recent reviews must be perused

Only look for recent reviews. The hotel might have been great and it might have gone down in hospitality services recently.

The newer, the better

If you are running tight on budget and do not want to get concerned with sanitary problems, try to book a hotel that is a relatively new establishment. Any new building would be fresh and because they are trying to take off their business, they will try extra hard to give the best services that they can afford.

The checklist of the amenities

Travellers have different types of preferences. A solo vacationer might want to have only lodging. A person who is visiting the town on a business trip or a family might want to have boarding facilities. If the weather is between 20-30 degrees Celsius, you might not want air conditioning which can substantially cut the costs. The place must have free wi-fi, parking, and running hot water if it gets cold in the season.

Check if it is isolated

If you are planning to visit an island, make sure the hotel where you are staying has 24X7 connectivity with the mainland with proper security.

Ensure you get the worth

If you are spending a lot of money on accommodation, make sure you get all the amenities that were promised.

Ask for membership

Some hotel chains have membership plans for frequent visitors. Ask for their membership club and get discounts on staying in again.

Know what you want

Chose a hotel that fits your demands. If you are going to stay out for most of your stay, then you do not need to splurge your money over a resort that gives hundreds of amenities that you might not enjoy.
